Welcome!

Hello All! We have decided to start this blog so all of our friends and family can keep up with the progress and changes going on at our house!! We will update with pictures and posted as we work, but first I will give you a quick background on how we became homeowners!!

After we got married in July, we knew we wanted to start looking at houses ASAP! We are literally busting at the seams in our three bedroom apartment, which we share with DJ's brother.  We spent most nights house shopping online and making wish lists about what we wanted (and didn't want) in our first place.  We find our future first place online and obsessed over it for months, knowing it was WAY out of our price range.  In October, when we finally decided we were ready to start looking at houses instead of just stalking them online, we went to my (real estate agent) mom for help.  She showed us a couple houses that were more in our price range and we were less than impressed.  We kept going back to that same house we found online.  We finally decided we needed to see it just to ease our minds, and that's what we did.  It was absoluetly love at first sight! Although it wasn't exactly the perfect time for us to buy a house (DJ was in between jobs, I was working part time, and we have a lease until July) we couldn't resist making an offer.  Long story short, it wasn't the right time for us and we walked away from our dream house.  We couldn't stop obsessing thinking about it everyday, planning how we would decorate, what colors we would paint, what we would change, how much our dog would love the fenced in yard, etc.  We went back to looking at houses online, but never set foot into another house, our minds were made up!  5 months later we were finally ready to start the process again and still had our hearts set on this house.  It had gone off the market a few months earlier, so we contacted the homeowners, and the rest is history! We finally closed on Good Friday (April 22nd).  We were very blessed that everything worked out the way it did, we really feel this house was meant to be.  It was a very long process, and stressful at times- but totally worth it!

So now you are all caught up on what brought us to this point.  We are working nights and weekends on the house and loving every minute of it (most of the time!).
