A day in the life....

of a homeowner! Since we moved in, it seems like a weekend hasn't gone by without something going wrong and interfering with our plans.  The first weekend in the hosue we had plans to hang out in the pool and relax, instead DJ went down to the basement and found this....

mold! It really wasn't anything major, and came off easily with some soap and water.  We had been getting a lot of rain, so it was pretty normal considering all the water issues our basement/crawlspaces have had in the past.  (Just fyi... the holes in the wall are from our termite/pest treatment we had prior to move in.  The drill all around the house, in the basement, and the pool house to treat and then fill the holes when they are done.)

I was banned from the basement (what a bummer, I would have been such a good helper!) but DJ did manage to snap some shots.  After he was done cleaning the mold he decided to tear down a wall or two, no big deal! Just a day in the life of a homeowner...

The previous owners had built a work room downstairs, and the boards were starting to rot, so DJ thought while he was down there he might as well rip it out.  I was able to snap a few shots from outside of him taking the debris from the walls out through the basement windows. 

What a hard worker my husband is....

And of course, Wrigley was a big help too...

I'm sure a million and one more things will go wrong, but that's O.K, its part of the "adventures in homeownership." Bring it on...
