So, I have a lot of catching up to do because we don't have internet at the new house now so I haven't been able to blog since we opened the pool and moved in.
Last Sunday was the big day! I stood inside and took pictures becasue DJ had me terrified of what might come out from under the pool cover, but nothing did- just a few dead spiders and a frog.
Here is everyone checking it out- it didn't look too good
DJ trying to figure out what the heck to do next. Eventhough DJ's parents have a pool and he has helped take care of it for years, an inground pool is something totally different and he has done a great job getting it "swim ready!"
Turning the pump on for the first time lead to this....
A whole in the pipe underground. When the pest control people came to do their treatments they had to drill in the ground and we think they drilled a hole in the pipe. Darryl was able to fix it, but it wasn't the best start to opening the pool for the first time.
DJ getting ready to shock the crap out of the pool. He has shocked it a few times since, each time letting it sit for a day or two so the shock can do it's job and then he vacuums it.
A few days later, we bought a new pipe to fix the one with the hole in it-
Pool Day 3- after a shock and a vacuum- it is looking better!!!
Day 5- the water is looking much better!
Day 7- Almost Ready!!!
Pool Day 9- It is READY!!!! DJ vacuumed and put in one last package of shock...
And then he jumped in!!!!
Of course it has been raining and cold for the past two days so I haven't been able to get in yet, but it is ready! We are so excited for this summer!!!!
